GEOMON Project
Small forest catchments are an excellent tool for monitoring long-term changes, because they do not reflect local pollution such as waste from human settlements, transport emissions or flush of chemicals from agriculture. They are excellent for long-term changes monitoring, such as the effects of acid rain, high nitrogen deposition or expected impact of climate change. And the longer series of measurements we have, the better we are able to evaluate these trends and apply to strategic decision to eliminate most negative influences.
