Geologist and teacher. He studied natural science, being mostly interested in geology. He taught at Provincial Commercial Academy in Libverda near Děčín and was custodian of the Geological and Paleontological Museum in Ústí nad Labem. At the beginning of World War One was killed in action. He was involved in geological mapping of the Barrandian and the České středohoří Mountains. He also studied tectonics, stratigraphy and paleontology and published several papers dealing with these topics.
