Mining engineer working in various coal and ore mines in the Ostrava region and Poland. He dealt in numerous publications with geology of the Upper Silesian bituminous coal basin, especially with the correlation of individual coal seams. As an expert, he participated in various projects of valley dams (near Luhačovice, on the Ostravice and Moravice rivers, etc.). He was corresponding member of geological institutes in Prague, Vienna, and Berlin.
