Hazard, Joseph Nikolaus
born 8th May 1851, Haute-Récourt (Lorraine, now France), died 3rd June 1908, Leipzig-Mockau
German geologist. In 1880 - 1895 he was departmental geologist of the Saxon Geologische Landersuntesuchung in Leipzig. He contributed to the geological survey of the Saxon territory. He is co-author of geological maps at a scale of 1 : 25 000 (Geologische Specialkarte des Königreich Sachsen) of which he mapped 11 sheets. Some map sheets cover parts of Bohemia.
