After inserting the CD to the drive, the introduction page opens where you can find blue underlined references:

Project information - Project "The Digital Map Archive of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS)
Contents CD - a description of selected map sheets
User Manual - how to work with the application
Map grid ZM and Map grid G-K - application entry
Sheets of administrative units - a list of map sheets in each administrative unit
Map coverage - the area of the CR covered by map sheets - the oveview of the covered area - map sheets at the scale of 1 : 25 000. The map sheets are available in two different coordinate systems ("ZM" and "G-K")

Individual pages are accessible by clicking on the blue underlined references.

Clicking on the reference "Map grid ZM", a page including the map grid in the scale of 1 : 25 000 in the S-JTSK coordinate systems with Krovak's projection will open. Maps with different signatures are distinguished by colour while map sheets with legends are marked with a full circle.
Cartographic outputs of printed maps might include such supplements as : geological map, legend, stratigraphic column, geological section, geological unit summary, geological mapping summary, map grid and geophysical maps (magnetic, radioactive and gravimetric anomalies).

Each map is divided into four quadrants (A, B, C, D), To open these quadrants either click on them or select them from the upper navigation panel . Above the map grid ZM scheme users are to choose between displaying a map or its text legend. If explanatory notes are selected by specifying a map on the grid scheme, a new window displaying the desired map text legend will open.
If a map is selected by specifying a map on the grid scheme, a new window displaying the desired geological map will open.

Clicking on the reference "Map grid G-K" a page including the map grid at the scale of 1 : 25 000 in the S42 coordinate systems with Gauss-Krüger's projection will open. While moving with a cursor along an individual map sheet, a map's number and map's title are displayed.

Complete map overview - contains more different maps (maps differ by authors, edition year and so on) referenced to a selected map unit from the map grid scheme. Each map has its heading where you can find such infromation as the sheet's editor, edition year (if it is known), and a map type. Manuscriptive maps additionally include a list of manuscriptive attachments such as legend, geological section and stratigraphic column, if that information is available. There is a report list under a map.

To select these geological maps use the upper navigation panel or just click on individual map parts included in an entire map overview. The navigation panel contains tools for getting to the first page - "Home", getting back to the pages "Map grid ZM", "Map grid G-K", or "Map information". The map information table contains a complete list of geological maps (covered, uncovered) which are available in the digital Archive of the ÈGS. If the CD icon appears in the first column, the document is a part of this CD. Clicking on the icon, a document will display, while clicking on a document's title, detailed information will display.
