Abstract

The first finds of homalonotid trilobites in the Lower Devonian of the Barrandian area of central Bohemia (Czech Republic) are reported and discussed as exotic elements in faunas of typically Bohemian character. Parahomalonotus novaki sp. n., distinguished by extremely large dimensions, is described from the Zlíchov Formation (Zlíchovian, lower Emsian). Other exotic faunal elements are evaluated and discussed in context of the Basal Zlíchovian Event.
