Abstract

The present stratigraphic concept of the NW flank and central part of the Barrandian Proterozoic (= Blovice Formation) is subjected to criticism. The Štěchovice Group of the SE flank probably has its analogue in the flysch facies of the Kralovice-Rakovník belt. The Davle Formation of the SE flank is represented by a different facies with prevalently basaltic volcanites in the NW flank. The necessity to establish different lithostratigraphic schemes in particular areas (microsegments) of the Barrandian Neoproterozoic is stressed. Three microsegments with different facies developments are defined in the Teplá-Barrandian Proterozoic: West Bohemian, Blovice, and Central Bohemian microsegment.
