Abstract

The Bystrá and Pindula sections, near the town Frenštát pod Radhoštěm and the Komorní Lhotka section near the village of the same name, were studied palynologically. The studied sections are situated in the Silesian unit of the flysch zone of the Outer Western Carpathians. Sections consist of flysch sediments belonging to Lhoty Formation and Mazák Member. Based on biostratigraphic correlation the studied interval comprises Upper Albian to Cenomanian. The representatives of genera Chatangiella and Isabelidinium in the Mazák Member suggest a close relationship to the Boreal bioprovince.
