| Pelikan, Anton Dr. Phil. born 24th March 1861, Vienna, died 6th January 1918, Prague Mineralogist, petrographer, university professor. He studied natural science and earned a Doctorate in Philosophy. He qualified at the university in Prague and, in 1899, was appointed associate professor and, in 1901, full professor of mineralogy and petrography at the German University in Prague. He was mainly interested in mineralogy and general petrography and systematic and regional geology.
