Abstract

Two-mica granites of the Šumava Mts., representing a part of western branch of the Moldanubian batholith, form independent magmatic bodies on a mountain-ridge of this area. The main ore mineral occurring in these granites is ilmenite, partly altered to pseudorutile. Ilmenite is partly enriched in Mn (up to 9 wt. % MnO) and in Zn (up to 3.8 wt. % ZnO).
