Abstract

Several new localities were found within the framework of systematic research of Tertiary paleontologie sites in the České středohoří Mts. during 2001-2005. This contribution summarizes all important and interesting findings of Tertiary flora and fauna from five studied localities. Fishes Gobius sp. From Byňov represent a genus, unknown in the Cenozoic of the České středohoří till now. Floristic sample collection with 12 new species was done on the same locality. Multifarious flora, crustaceans of the Palaemonidae family and frogs of Palaeobatrachidae family were found on the Matrý Hill site. Flora of the newly discovered locality Sokolí vrch Hill shows warm weather affinity and is comparable with the flora of the Suletice-Berand locality. Floras of Matrý and Rytina soutěska Gorge are younger than the well-known locality of the Kundratice-Jezuitská rokle gorge. Fossilized woods from Deblík and Sokolí vrch hills are being studied recently.
