Abstract
Fluvial, lacustrine, slope and polygenetic sediments were identified in the central part of El Salvador around the Guazapa Volcano, during the investigation of natural hazards. Sedimentological evaluation concerned mixed fluvio-lacustrine deposits of former valley of Rio Lempa River. Moreover, paleosoils and soils are preserved in places. They were carefully documented because of their importance for paleogeographic reconstructions and stratigraphic correlations.
