Abstract

Systematic slope deformation investigations in the territory of Prihrazy Heights of the Jizera River District took place in 2003. The presence of compact Cretaceous sandstone beds in higher parts of slopes affects negatively the slope stability in lower parts built by clayey rocks. Typical deep slides and lateral spread find most favourable conditions in NW section of the area, while in SE section, where a character of rock temples prevails, slope movements of rockfall type are common. Apart from special engineering geological maps even prognostic landslide susceptibility maps 1.10 000 were prepared.
