Abstract

The sites Koněprusy - Kobyla - Chlupáčova cave and Srbsko - Chlum - Ist and IVth caves are revised as a part of the prepared review of the fossil record of Castoridae in the Bohemian karst. Early Pleistocene layers in the locality Chlum represent both interglacial and glacial phases and belong to the late part of the mammalian stage Biharian. The younger site Kobyla represents part of interglacial and glacial periods as well and belongs to the mammalian stage Toringian. The older part of the cave deposits contains an unique warm Eemian/Riss-Wurm fauna. The paper deals with the morphometric analysis of the osteological and odontological material determined. The results are compared whit the data of the extant Castoridae.
