Abstract
SE part of the study area comprises flysch deposits of the Magura group of nappes; the larger NW part is built up by Neogene sediments of the Vienna Basin. The Quaternary era is represented predominantly by aeolian sand. In the floodplain of the Morava River the fluvial sand and gravel occur, overlain ususally by finer overbank silts (flood loam). along the valley banks the alluvial fan deposits are developed.
