Abstract

A zoisite-rich rock associated mainly with ultrabasic rocks occurs NE of Kunštát in the Letovice Complex. It shows textures and some geochemical features typical of metagabbros. Mineralogical composition and geochemical signature related to its cumulate origin was subsequently modified by extensive interaction with hydrothermal fluids. The pre-Variscan metasomatic processes led to complete replacement of primary magmatic grains of calcic plagioclase by zoisite. The following Variscan stages of evolution resulted in amphibolite-facies metamorphism and incorporation of originally oceanic crust into the current position.
