Abstract

In the old landslide area situated in the abandoned river meander in Žatec, already described in literature, a new earthflow has occurred in 2011. The paper describes characteristic features of the earthflow and conditions of its origination with regard to the wider context and history of the site. The slope movement reactivation was probably triggered by increased precipitation but it is related also to the unfavourable morphology of the site and anthropogenic activity in the area.
