Abstract

Within the geological mapping in the Czech Republic territories, the biostratigraphical research of organic sediments on many map sheets of Horní Blatná, Vejprty, Sobotka, Mělník, Hlinsko, Kašperské Hory, Žďár nad Sázavou, Český Krumlov (1 : 50 000) were carried out. The known localities: Boží Dar, Kovářská (Ore Mts), Stará Jímka (Bohemian Forest), Velké Dářko (Žďárské vrchy Hills), Zlatá louka (Bohemian-Moravian Uplands), Otice (Předšumaví), Karlovice - Sedmihorky, Nová Ves - Mašov (Bohemian Paradise), Chrást (Labe River floodplain) were verified and sediments for pollen analysis and radiocarbon dating were sampled. For the time reasons the most complete samples were chosen for the detailed palynological, palaeoalgological and palaeoecological research. Late Glacial and Holocene age of the deposits is proved by pollen-analytical investigation and correlation of the sedimentary record with well-documented data of the localities. Several metres thick organic sediments including rich pollen flora represent a standard pollen succession of the mountains (about 1000 m a.s.l.), uplands (about 400-900 m a.s.l.), lowlands (250-600 m a.s.l.) and floodplain areas (about 100-250 m a.s.l.). As a result of palynological study of the Upper Pleistocene and Holocene organic sediments, the Quaternary palynomorphs and the Cretaceous spores, dinocysts and foraminifera were found. The palynomorph redeposition due to the bedrock sediments influence
