Biostratigraphy of the Lower Cretaceous sediments of the Silesian Unit based on miospores, dinocysts, and foraminifers study (Outer Western Carpathians, Czech Republic)
Abstract
Miospores, dinocysts and foraminifers of the Lower Cretaceous age were found in dark grey and green-grey pelites from the fissure fills in the Jurassic limestone. The Albian age of the sediments from Jasenice was evaluated by the presence of spore-pollen assemblages of Corniculatisporites bolchovitinae, C. striatus and Tricolpites minutus. Foraminiferal Ticinella primula Zone was ascertained in Jasenice (sample 2) which corresponds to the Middle Albian age. Foraminiferal and palynomorph assemblages from the Hukvaldy samples correspond to the Hauterivian age. Dinocyst species of Batioladinium jaegeri, Bourkidinium granulatum, Muderongia staurota, Systematophora silybum , foraminiferal species of Astacolus calliopsis, A. linearis, Tristix acutangula, Pseudonodosaria humilis and Lenticulina pulchella evaluate the Upper Hauterivian age
