Abstract

Systematic monitoring of slope deformations is a part of geological hazard monitoring in Slovakia. The project (under way since 1993) is funded by The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic and is carried out by the State Geological Institute of Dionýz Štúr. Principal tasks of the methodology of monitoring with accent to actual problems are analyzed. Finally, the ways of future development of monitoring (including installation of the early warning systems on the important landslides) are described.
