Abstract

Hydrogeological monitoring of groundwater and surface water of Melechov massif was carried out from 1994 to 1999. Melechov massif is potential test locality for verification of new measurings methods and instruments for investigation of deep geological formations for the final repository of nuclear waste. Hydrogeological research comprised measurements of groundwater level and stream flow values, pumping tests and chemical analyses of groundwater and surface water. The shallow groundwater of Melechov massif is mainly a calcium carbonate water. Transmissivity of the "near surface zone" varies from 8.2 x 10-6 mř.s-1 to 3.7 x 10-4 mř.s-1. Results of interpretations including mathematical model will be presented in a final report in 2000.
