The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich has since 1855 been the main university of science and technology in Switzerland. ETH comprises 17 departments, 83 institutes and laboratories, 330 professorships, and about 840 lecturers who fulfil teaching obligations for almost 12000 students and conduct research. Each year about 1250 students receives an ETH diploma and 530 research assistants complete a doctoral thesis. A staff of more than 7500, 25% of which are women, works in teaching, research and administration. Current annual expenditure of ETH has reached 700 M€. Prof. Marco Mazzotti will be the main contact person.
