Gäbert, Carl
born 1 January 1873, Zwickau (Saxony), died 8th February 1931, Naumburg (Saxony)
Geologist. He studied at the University of Leipzig from where he graduated with Ph.D. degree in 1899. In the years 1898 - 1906 he worked in “Sächsische Landesgeologie”. In 1921, he became director of the “Institut für praktische Geologie in Leipzig”. He participated in the revision of 15 geological maps of the Kindom of Saxony at a scale of 1 : 25 000 (Geologische Specialkarte des Königreich Sachsen), some of them cover parts of the Czech territory.
