Abstract

Based on the palynomorph content in sandstone samples from the exposures near Zápy (Polabí area), the mid-Cenomanian age is evidenced by the presence of angiosperm pollen of Perucipollis minutus, Psilatricolpites parvulus, Tricolpites barrandei, and also by the dinoflagellate cysts. Depositional environment was most probably shallow marine (foraminiferal linings, acritarchs, and the prevalence of peridinioid dinocyst forms).
