Abstract

Outcrops of the Upper Cretaceous sediments from Semice and Přerov hills have been studied in detail. The main lithological types are marlstones, sandy calcareous siltstones and silty sandstones. Marlstones in the lowermost part of the section belong to the Bílá Hora Formation, siltstones and sandstones in the upper part of the section belong to the Jizera Formation representing a sequence generally upwards coarsing. In the Jizera Formation inoceramids and amonites of biostratigraphical importance were collected and document the Middle Turonian age.
