Abstract

A set of new geological maps provided an extensive material for study of the Příbram district, where the mapped area is geologically very complicated. It contains Neoproterozoic metavolcanics (e.g. Jílové zone), Neoproterozoic and Lower Paleozoic sediments of the SE flank of the Barrandian, various granitoids of the Variscan Central Bohemian Pluton and several „metamorphic islets" covering this pluton and built by Neoproterozoic and Lower Paleozoic volcanosedimentary strata. The granitic rocks of the Central Bohemian Pluton occupy a great part of the mapped area in all the map sheets and at some places it is also possible to study the mafic/silicic layered intrusions.
