Abstract
In the Velešín area in the southern Bohemia biotite and muscovite-biotite orthogneisses occur that are part of the Monotonous group of the Moldanubian Zone. Examined orthogneiss has a peraluminous character and significant geochemical features. This orthogneiss has significantly low content of thorium and zirconium, higher K20/Na20 ratio and negative europium anomaly. Orthogneiss is probably a metamorphic equivalent of strongly fractionated granite. Occurrence of orthogneisses of similar geochemical features is very significant for Czech part of the Moldanubian Zone of the Bohemian Massif.
