Abstract

The Tis granite massif, a part of polygenic Čistá-Jesenice pluton, comprises three principal rock types – equigranular coarse-grained biotite granite (Tis type), porphyritic medium-grained biotite granodiorite (Petrohrad type), and leucocratic aplitic granite. All these rocks are pre-Variscan in age and geochemically rather primitive. All the three rock types were deformed to various degree during Variscan orogeny. A dyke of highly fractionated late-Variscan granite porphyry intruded the NW part of the massif and documents that late-Variscan A-type magmatic activity affected also the area east of the Litoměřice fault.
