Abstract

Scree slope accumulations are locally cemented into resistant scree breccia in the Central Bohemia. The cementation occurred mostly at sites of groundwater discharge. Based on U-series data on carbonate cement, the scree breccias were formed between 12.9 and 7.9 ka BP in the area where Neoproterozoic silicate rocks outcrop. In a karst area formed by Devonian limestones the oldest scree cement was dated at 9.5 ka BP. An intensive destruction of scree breccias by erosion occurred between l .9 and 0.3 ka BP.
