Formation of Holocene scree breccias in Central Bohemia and their destruction by erosion
Geoscience Research Reports 36, 2003 (GRR for 2002),
pages 106–109
Abstract
Scree slope accumulations are locally cemented into resistant scree breccia in the Central Bohemia. The cementation occurred mostly at sites of groundwater discharge. Based on U-series data on carbonate cement, the scree breccias were formed between 12.9 and 7.9 ka BP in the area where Neoproterozoic silicate rocks outcrop. In a karst area formed by Devonian limestones the oldest scree cement was dated at 9.5 ka BP. An intensive destruction of scree breccias by erosion occurred between l .9 and 0.3 ka BP.
