Abstract

Long exposure of a complex of multiple alternating scaly-bedded layers of eolian and slope sediments, fossil soils and soil sediments was uncovered ESE of the Barrandov residential area. This complex is underlain by wind-blown sands in the upper part and by high terrace of the brook in the Hlubočepy valley (Praha 5) in the lower part of the exposure. It represents a unique notable proof of the paleoenvironmental development during the early Pleistocene. However, micromorphological paleosol analyses are necessary for the stratigraphic classification of the described formation.
