Abstract

In the course of a grant project we carried out supplementary collections in Lower Cretaceous section of the Manín Unit in Slovakia. We documented Kališčo, Lúčkovská and Podhorie Formations, determined the collected ammonites and aptychi, processed and evaluated non-calcareous dinoflagellata. According to ammonites the studied Kališčo Formation belongs to the Lower Hauterivian (Radiatus to Nodosoplicatus ammonite Zones), and the lower part of the Lúčkovská Formation beginns in to the Upper Hauterivian (Ligatus/Balearis ammonite Zones). Upper Barremian Vandenheckii ammonite Zone was determined in the upper part of the Lúčkovská Formation. Dark limestones of the Podhorie Formation belong, according to dinocysts, to the higher Upper Barremian.
