The Miocene of the Carpathian Foredeep in southern Moravia, geological development and lithostratigraphic classification
Abstract
Correlation of Lower Miocene sediments of the southern Moravian part of the Carpathian Foredeep is presented and at the same time new lithostratigraphical units are suggested. The major lithofacies are shown in a system of regional correlation of well logs and regional geological cross sections and they demonstrate the distribution of thickness, structures and facies. Set of structural and thickness maps is useful for better understanding of Miocene strata development.
