Abstract

Quaternary sediments in Lower Silesian Forests (Poland) are represented by organic sediments (peat). During the year 2001, international and interdisciplinary research was started in Wilkocin peat-bogs. Folloing accompanying plants (e.g. Ledum palustre, Calluna vulgaris, Ericaceae, Cyperaceae, Utricularia, Spphagnum) substitute the typical peat-bog vegetation. Human impact is represented by anthropogenic plants (e.g. Cerealia, Artemisisa, Plantago, centaurea cyanus, Agrostemma githago, rumex, fagopyrum, Sambucus nigra). Palynological study will be continued in the years to come.
