Abstract

During the geological mapping of Quaternary sediments in the Šluknov Spur nordic erratics have been recorded. New geological mapping of nordic rocks is compared with that of Saxonian geologists from the end of the 19th century. Most occurrences of glacial sediments and scattered erratic marked in Saxonian maps have been proved, however a lot of new finds has also been recorded. The number of finds of nordic rocks are represented by sedimentary bodies of tills, glaciofluvial and glaciolacustrine sediments, however, nordic material is mostly scattered about the flat interfluves, on upper sideslopes of valleys and even in the valley floors (at altitudes 340-450 m a.s.l.) as a result of being left there as the remnants of former glacigenic sediments. The distribution of nordic rocks is graphically presented in the map.
