Revision of the genus Castor Linnaeus, 1758 (Mammalia, Rodentia) from the Koněprusy – Zlatý kůň – cave C 718
Abstract
Zlatý kůň - cave C 718 locality was revised as a part of reviewing the fossil record of the Family Castoridae Gray, 1821 in Český kras area (Bohemian Karst). Layer H as the source of these fossils represents interglacial period and its thermophilous sylvan forms. It is the youngest segment of mammalian stage Biharian. The filling of cavity C 718 represents the complex of oldest mammalian fauna at Koněpruské jeskyně (K. caves). The stratigraphical range of this filling is Cromerian-Elsterian.
