Abstract

The contribution briefly introduced this polyphyletic group of protozoans called "thecamoebians". It explains the reason of their reserch an appraises the importance of thecamoebians and their usability in paleoecology. The material for this research comes from the Šumava Mountains (lakes Čertovo jezero, Černé jezero, Plešné jezero and water reservoir Lipno). These localities will be sampled several times. Present studies show that some differences among the assemblages from various environments are evident. It mainly applies to the size distribution of the tests.
