Abstract

The contribution deals with the micropaleontological research results of the coal seam and accompanying coaly deposits from the floor of the Open Mine Merkur, the significant locality where the mammalian remains of the Mammalian Neogene zone MN 3 were ascertained by Fejfar (1975). The parallel palynological research of the locality is of primary significance for the North Bohemia Lower Miocene sequences and recognition of the coal-forming vegetation and its environment.
