Abstract

The carbonate rocks of the Silurian-Devonian boundary beds in the NE part of the Prague Basin were subjected to microfacies study allowing a reconstruction of sedimentary environment and processes of origin of sediments. The trend in shallowing of sedimentary basin during the youngest Přídolí and the oldest Lochkovian time interval is demonstrable. The deposition from traction currents is considered as the most probable process of genesis of carbonates in the studied interval.
