Abstract

Geologists of the Czech Geological Survey on the initiation of the Ministry of Environment compiled and published in the years 2000-2001 basic clearly arranged pieces of information of the geology of national parks in the Czech Republic: the Krkonoše (Giant) Mts., České Švýcarsko (Czech Switzerland), the Podyjí, and the Šumava (Bohemian Forest) Mts. The aim of these publication is to popularize geosciences among the general public, especially among young people. They also try to highlight the close relation of geosciences, living nature and the environment.
