Abstract

During the excavations associated with construction of the D8 highway in the České středohoří Mts. were exposed two new occurrences of mineralogical interest. First occurrence represents breccia coating basanite dyke nearby Bílinka. The breccia is impregnated by calcite. Scarce crystals of bluish barite occur in the druse cavities of calcite gangue. The second locality represents quartz-tourmaline metamorphic segregation hosted in two mica paragneiss of the Saxothuringian Zone at Chotimer. Tourmaline is Fe-rich dravite accompanied by late REE-goyazite.
