Abstract

Exceptional preservation of trilobite exoskeletons from the loose quartzitic sandstone block collected on N slope of the Čilina hill (Rokycany area, SW part of the Barrandian) is described. Unlike to common conservation of trilobites in the Řevnice Quarzites as internal and external mould lacking fine details, the new material has the original exoskeletons with fine superficial details such as the terrace lines and tubercles. The preservation indicates that careful collecting can offer the material showing details previously unknown. This unique preservation, however queer, has high significance for taxonomical evaluation of the trilobites of the Řevnice Quartzites.
