Abstract

The Radobýl hill near the town Litoměřice is built by the nefelinic-olivine basanites. On its southern slope the landslide has occurred in the past, which led to the opening of the cleft with a height of ca. 8 m. The cleft was continuously filled by loess with large amount of the basanite stones. In these sediments numerous fossil fauna (Vertebrata, Mollusca) was found. Based on the determination of palaeontological material, the interval of fill sedimentation was identified; from the last pleniglacial till Holocene. The question about the age of landslide was resolved thanks to characterization of the tafocoenosis found there and the radiocarbon analyses.
