Abstract

The Žatec Sub-basin is distinctive "half-graben" structure with the invidual evolution in the western part of the Permo-Carboniferous Kladno-Rakovnik Basin. The position of the geological units at the basement of the Žatec Sub-basin was resolved as lately as the boundary between Saxothuringian and Teplá-Barrandian units had been interpreted. Presently the available geological and geophysical data provided compilation of the digital 3D model of the crystalline basement beneath Permo-Carboniferous sediments. Reinterpretation of archive seizmic refraction data was more important to determination of the depth of the Žatec Sub-basin.
