Abstract
Helminthopsis ichnofabric was discovered as the uppermost tier in the Řevnice Quartzite (Libeň Formation; Upper Ordovician of the Barrandian area). It is in contradiction with the prevailing interpretation of the unit as the typical Skolithos ichnofacies. Instead, the facies was probably characterized not by shifting substrates but by episodic sedimentation, alternating by time periods of medium to low energy of currents and waving.
