Abstract

In May 2010, one of the largest landslides in the Czech Republic originated in the Outer Western Carpathians, near the Girova Mt. (839 m a.s.l.). Activation of this disastrous landslide was caused mainly by extreme rainfalls, which reached values of 300 mm at that time from 15th to 18th May. The main objective of this study is the application of electrical resistivity tomography in the depletion zone of the landslide. ERT measurements revealed several tension cracks above landslide body suggesting possible future retrogressive shift of the slope deformation.
