Two granite facies play the most important role in the western part of the Krkonose-Jizera Composite Massif: the Liberec- and the Jizera-types. The discrimination of these two very similar granites has been hitherto rather subjective bringing complications and uncertainty during the field mapping. An objectified approach to this problem is proposed in the present contribution based on geochemical parameters, namely Mgo, CaO and TiO2 contents.
