Abstract

Effect of different maceration on the megaspores size is discussed. Following techniques have been applied: acetolysis solution, KOH, HNO3, Schulze's solution, H2O2, HCl. Megaspore size changes are important for their taxonomic evaluation. The spores may be dissolved in KOH and by Schulze's solution. This may cause problems in qualitative analysis of fossil assemblages.
