Abstract

The balanced utilization of all existing power sources is a general idea of energy policy, at present. According to the prices of energy, which grow up rapidly, utilization of the Earth temperature as power source for heat pumps seems to be very attractive. Computer modeling of rock temperature is a very important part of the heat pump projects. Before drilling of the boreholes, especially in big heat pump systems, computer modeling should be used. Two softwares, which were analyzed, have been chosen as promising means for these purposes. Results are summarized in this article.
