Abstract

Badenian sands and gravels in the surroundings of the Northern Moravian town of Odry are located in very unique hydrogeological position at the bottom of a narrow and deep structure of the Odry Basin. The great benefit of such a porous aquifer is determined by its position underneath a thick overlying aquiclude of the Badenian clays, so the artesian character of the aquifer can be utilized for high quality ground water exploitation.
