Volcaniclastic deposits of Upper Radnice Member between Lubná and Nové Strašecí
Abstract
Refractory raw materials near Rakovník, at the southern margin of the Carboniferous Kladno-Rakovník Basin were studied in the opencast mines from the point of view of geochemistry and petrography. The origin of refractory raw materials are rhyolitic eruptions and sedimentary processes. Tuffs are fine grained pyroclastic and resedimented volcaniclastics with negative Eu anomalies and high contents of Th, U, Nb, Li, Be, Bi, Sn, Pb, Y and REE. Hg, Sb and Y content of refractory rocks in Pecínov is similar to Cambrian rhyolitic magma with Variscan mineralization.
